It all began in 1969 when John A. Pribula, Jr., a New Jersey entrepreneur, started the Edison Supply & Equipment Company in the basement of his home. The Company, also more commonly known by its acronym, ESECO, began with one product, a commercial floorlift, and has since grown into a multi-product line solution serving the needs of primarily the funeral and cemetery industries.
From its modest beginnings, ESECO continues to be a family owned and operated organization. When the company's founder retired in December of 1994, his son, John A. Pribula III succeeded him as president. Still located in Edison, New Jersey, the company was moved out of the family's dwelling in 1988 and into a free standing building located just a short distance from the home making it convenient for the owners to "commute" any time of the day or night.
Currently, the company employs six individuals at the Edison Supply facility to support its nationwide distribution efforts and six field representatives to support the exclusive needs of its East Coast customers from Maine to Georgia. Working out of the Edison facility are John A. Pribula III, Jerome and Judy Pribula Gordon, Marketing; Carol Casale, office manager; and Hillary Greenberg, Customer Service and Collections.
Being a relatively small organization, all company members share a variety of duties and responsibilities. In whatever they do, their philosophies are simple and consistent: One call does it all for the convenience and benefit of our customers.
Most recently, the company has expanded its product line in order to fulfill the needs of local service organizations such as fire, police, first aid, Haz Mat, and Healthcare organizations through the introduction of products manufactured to safeguard personnel against infectious diseases.
All in all, the company touts a product line of over 50,000 items. From Register Books and Acknowledgement Cards to personalized products and plastics; from urns and funeral furniture to customized door mats; from embalming fluid and sundries to instruments and church trucks, ESECO offers everything the funeral and cemetery industry needs, except caskets and vaults! It is truly a "One-Call-Does-It-All" organization.
